Question: Why are you running for office?
Question: Do only residents of District 2 get to vote in your race?John: I have been an active public citizen for a many years, having been involved as a volunteer in a several organizations and citizen committees in Seminole County.
Please take a look at my Biographical Information for details. My experiences have led me to conclude that I can make positive changes if I am elected to serve on the County Commission. I knew that the time had to be right for my family and the time is now right.
Question: Has your opponent served well in office?John: No. Elections for the County Commission in Seminole County are county-wide. A candidate must live in a certain district – I must live in District 2 – but you do not have to live in District 2 to vote for me.
Question: Isn’t it very difficult to defeat an incumbent?John: In my opinion, he has not. The media have done a number of stories pointing out serious shortcomings of my opponent’s actions while serving in public office.
Question: How can I help you win this election?John: Yes. The incumbent has higher name recognition and usually has an advantage in fundraising. But I am not doing this because it is easy. I’m doing this because I can make a difference. It is not unusual in Seminole County for voters to replace an incumbent who has not lived up to their expectations. I am more highly qualified to serve on the County Commission than my opponent. I will not use the position for my own self interest. I will always put the interests of the public first.
